Get rid of rust stains on clothing
Place clothing in a basin of water that has been mixed with a little salt and lime juice. Soak overnight. Wash as per normal in the morning. Another method is to wash the clothes clean, rub a little slaked lime to the stain and squeeze lime juice over it. Leave  30 minutes before washing.

Own a batik print? Preserve its color by doing this
(1) Soak your newly-bought batik cloth in tea for 20 minutes. Then wash without using soap.
(2) Add a few papaya leaves in a basin of boiling-hot water. Put the batik prints in while the water is still hot. Soak overnight. Wash as per normal in the morning.

Lipstick stains
Rub gently little shampoo over the spot, then wash as per normal. Shampoo can also be tried on other type of stains.

Ink stains
(1) Mix slaked lime, fine salt and vinegar. Rub the mixture on the spot gently, then rinse with clean water. Repeat a few times until the ink stain disappears completely.
(2) Mix powdered milk with a water. Soak the affected clothing in it 20 - 25 minutes. Then wash as usual.
(3) Drop lime juice mixed with salt on the spot and rub it. Leave for a few minutes then wash as usual.
(4) Spray on the spot with hair spray, then leave it for a few minutes. Add vinegar to water and rub on the spot with it. Then wash as usual.

Tight clothing
Clothes that are too tight, especially around the waist area, make the wearer susceptible to headaches.

Stubborn dirt stain on clothing
Use a bath soap to rub on the stains on white-colored clothing. Leave to dry for 30 minutes, then re-wash.

Get rid of tea and coffee stains
Pour hot water over the tea or coffee stains. If there are still residues, plaster them over with wash powder. Leave for one hour before washing. .

Cleaning woolen clothes, towels and other woolen fabric
Add into half a pail of water one tablespoon vinegar. Soak the woolen fabric in for two to three hours. Then re-wash with ordinary soap to lose the vinegar remains. Rinse and dry. You'll' find your woolen materials as good as new.

Get rid of sticky candy or gum
Put the affected clothing in the refrigerator and leave it there for a few hours before washing.

Get rid pf paint
Soak the clothing in kerosene for a few hours. Then wash with soap, brush and rinse as usual.
